I’ve invented a new glue! It comes under the heading of over-boiled Strawberry jam!
Want to know how to make it?
Thought you might, well....
You can use my very own jam thermometer that obviously doesn’t work, or add extra lemon juice and boil rapidly till the ingredients stick to the bottom of the pan or you smell burning, please don't wait for the smoke detector to kick in.
Once cool enough to handle you can then chisel parts off to fit into the well sterilised jar but do try and keep it to small lumps or it won’t go in! If other half or friends are not willing to try it via the taste buds then you can use it as glue. |

Well... can I borrow your jam thermometer ?
I've got a question though : how do you know it's a glue if it comes in small lumps ?
I suppose you don't force it into one's throat !
In other words : how did you find out it was a glue ? |

Well because a big lump stuck to the thermometer, and it having stuck the jar to the worktop! Easily removed though with lots of soapy water and elbow grease. |

Thanks for the explanation Lynn !
I don't think I'll be making jam any time soon, so I'll have to buy my glue... |

My mum's favourite method for ensuring that her shoes stick firmly to the kitchen floor (so she doesn't fall over, see) is to make the jam in the microwave and then to drop the whole lot in the process of transferring the molten jam from the microwave to the table. |

Now *that* sounds quite sticky to me, Rosie !
Do you think I should try it some day ? Given the fact that I'm not allowed to clean the kitchen floor, due to my back ? |

Well hubby has been eating it and he seems to be ok. I tried it before it set proper and it tasted really yummy but not sure I have the power in my hands to get any out of the jar now. |

Maybe it will become a bit smoother if you put it in the microwave ? |

Its not too hard if I swirl it round, eventually its pliable enough to put on toast. |

Lynn I've made a few like that too. My BIL complained that the raspberry jam I made was too runny and he won't keep it in the fridge so I added more sugar and put it in the microwave. The resulting goo nearly seized my turn-table to the inside when it boiled over. He ate it tho'. |

Next time you make jam Aud, don't give any to your BIL... He doesn't deserve it, me thinks...
"Do not look a gift horse into the mouth", I'd say ! |
